RESCUE STATION

FAU AIA Outstanding Design Achievement in Bi-Annual Charrette Competition | Finalist Award

The primary focus of this design was to create an object that will provide unobstructed views to the lifeguards ensuring the safety of visitors. Addressing climatic conditions in which the object will function was of the equal importance. This was accomplished through the use of operable louvers that allow the station to breath while providing the shade for the lifeguards.

The front facade is open, leading to a wide ramp that allows guards to move quickly in case of an emergency. Foldable ramp transforms this object into a modular structure that can be easily moved along the beach.
